Aamaal audio: Maulana Seyed Mohammed Naqvi The A’maal of Shab-e-Qadr (19th, 21st & 23rd of Ramadan) Shab-e-Qadr is the night, which is the best night among the nights of the whole year. The “A’maal” (religious performances) of this night are better than the A’maal of 1000 months. In this night the divine Annual Decree is passed. The Angels and Roohul Ameen (A highly dignified Angel) descend on this earth, in that night. These call on the Imam of the time, and what is ordained (by Allah) for everybody is presented before the Imam.

The common A’maals are: –

1. To take a bath. Allama Majlisi says, “It is better to take a bath before sunset so that the night prayers may be performed after bath”.

2). Prophet Mohammad(pbuh&hf) has said that whoever performs two Raka’at of prayers during Shab-e-Qadr in a manner that after Sura Al-Hamd, recites 7 times Sura Tawheed (Qul ho-Allah ho Ahad) and after prayers recites 70 times

(Astaghfirulla-ha wa-atoubo ilaeh)

“I seek pardon from God and ask for penitence from Him”. then before his rising up from the prayers, Allah(swt) will forgive all his sins and the sins of his parents.

3. Imam Jafer-e-Sadiq(a.s.) recommends that “Put the Holy Quran on your head and say:

O Allah treat me as one of those who are free from Hell, in the name of this Holy Book sent by Thee, whatever there be in the Book. Including Ism-e-A’azam and Asmaa-e-Husnaa and the things to be dreaded, the things that may be expected and desired, like blessings of Jannat. Do forgive through the grace of this book

“Alaahumma inni asaloka be kitaabekal munzale Wa maa feeh, wa feehismokal akbaro wa asmaakal husnaa, wa maa yokhaafo Wa yurjaa an taj-alani min otaqaaeka minan-Naar”,

(SALAWAT-After this he may beg from Allah whatever he wants).

4. He should place the Holy Qur’an on his head and say,

O Allah! I appeal to Thee in the name of this Qur’an and the Rooh that was sent along with it, and in the name of the Momin (believer) whose praise is contained in this Book and Tine obligation that is on them. No one else recognizes the right and truth more than Thee

“Allaahumma be haqqe haazal Qur’an we be haqqe man arsaltahoo beh, Wa be haqqe kulle momenin madahtahoo feeh, we be haqqeka alaihim fa-laa ahada a’arafo be haqqeka mink”,

(SALAWAT-After this he should repeat 10 times each):

BEKA YA ALLAH’HO (S.W.T.) BE MOHAMMADIN (S.A.W.) BE ALIYYIN (A.S.) BE FATEMATA (A.S.) BIL HASANE (A.S.) BIL HUSAINE (A.S.) BE ALIY IBNIL HUSAIN (A.S.) BE MOHAMMED IBN ALIYYIN (A.S.) BE JA’FAR IBN MOHAMMEDIN (A.S.) BE MOOSA IBN JA’FAR (A.S.) BE ALI IBN MOOSA (A.S.) BE MOHAMMED IBN ALIYYIN (A.S.) BE ALI IBN MOHAMMED (A.S.) BIL HASAN IBN ALIYYIN (A.S.) BIL HOJJATIL QAEM (A.S.)

It is highly recommeded to recite the Ziarat-e-Warisa of Imam Hussain(a.s.) in all the three nights and to perform 100 raka’at in all the three nights – specially in the night of the 23rd of Ramzan. If you do not feel sufficient energy to pray standing, still it is recommeded to pray in sitting position. If some of your prayers are QAZA (obligatory prayers missed earlier which have to be performed) then perform the QAZA prayers of 6 days instead of the 100 raka’at of prayers.

5. During these nights it is recommended to recite Dua Joshan-e-Kabeer, Dua Joshan-e-Sagheer, Dua Makaram-ul-Ikhlaq and Dua-e-Tauba.

6. During these nights it is recommended to recite Dua Joshan-e-Kabeer, Dua Joshan-e-Sagheer, Dua Makaram-ul-Ikhlaq and Dua-e-Tauba.

7. One should keep himself awake throughout these three nights. The vigil during these nights carries great Sawab (heavenly reward).

8. To offer 100 Raq’ats of Namaz. It has been highly recommended. It is better to recite (after Surat-al-Hamd) 10 times the Surat-al-Tauhid/ Sure Ikhlaas (Kulhowallah).

9. Recite: “Astagferullaah Rabbi Wa atoobo elaihe” 100 times (i.e., “I seek pardon from God and ask for penitence from Him”).

10. Recite: “Allaahummal’an qatalatal Ameeril Momeneen” 100 times (i.e., “O Allah! Thy malison upon the assassin of Ameerul Moineneen Ali ibne Abi Talib”).

11. Give Sadqa/charity

12)Recite “Joshan Kabeer”

It was a deadly blow. Imam Ali (AS) left this world on 21st Ramadan in 40th Hjra. Therefore from 19th to 21st we observe “Ayyamul Zarbat”. 2) It must be kept in mind the day is as auspicious as the night, so recite the Holy Quran and dua’as of Imam Ali (AS) and Imam Ali Ibnil Hussain (As) 3) Recite the following dua’a taught by the Holy Prophet (SA) : ALLAAHUMMA WAFFIR FEEHI H’AZ’Z’EE MIN BARAKAATIHI WA SAHHIL SABEELEE ILAA KHAYRAATIHI WA LAA TAH’RIMNEE QABOOLA H’ASANAATIHI YAA HAADIYAN ILAL H’AQQIL MUBEEN Few Other Dua recommended for 21 ramadan Tonight is the second night of the “Laylatul Qadr”, 1) Do the common Aamaal of the “Laylatul Qadr”. 2)Shaykh Sudooq (RA) saya that those who read, discuss and make known the essentials aspects of the “Deen of Allah” during this night, utilize it in the best of manner. 3) Pray 8 Rakaat Namaaz and in every Rakaat after Al Hamd recite any other Surah 4) It is reported that Imam Jafar As Sadiq (As) used to pray “Tahajjud” tonight till Fajr Namaaz 5) Recite “Durood” as many times as possible ; and for the purpose of Aa – maal and prayers this night is fulfilling as the night of A’ashoora. 6) It is highly recommended to have a bath every night from 21st to the last date of Ramadan. DAY AAMAAL OF 21st 1) It must be kept in mind the day is as auspicious as the night, so recite the Holy Quran and dua’as of Imam Ali (AS) and Imam Ali Ibnil Hussain (As) 2) It is highly desirable to go into “Itikaaf” (Spiritual retirement or retreat ) from today. The Holy Prophet (SA) and the Ahlul Bayt (AS) used to move over to the Masjid for Worship of Allah during these last days of this month. 3) recite the following dua’a taught by the Holy Priphet (SA): ALLAAHUMMA – A’L LEE FEEHIILAA MARZ”AATIKA DALEELAA WA LAA TAJ – A’L LISH – SHAYT’AANI FEEHI A’LAYYA SABEELA WAJ – A’LIL JANNATA LEE MANZILAN WA MAQEELAA YAA QAAZ”IYA H’AWAAA – IJIT’ T’AALIBEEN 4) Today Imam Ali (AS) left this world to meet His Creator in 40th Hijra – a sad day of mourning. i) Take bath and put on clean clothes. ii) Give alms in the name of Allah iii) Pray Namaaz of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (AS). iv) Recite; a) Ziarath, dua’a after Ziarath and Salawaat of the holy Imam Ali (AS) b) Ziarath – E – Jaamia kabeer or Ziarath – E – Jaamia Sagheer c) Hold “Majlis” and give expression to our grief in whatever manner available or suitable to us keeping in view the life style of the “14 Infallibles (masoomin), and the tenets of Islam, but at all events obligatory rules of conduct ( Namaaz and other essentials ) have to be carried out ; and in addition special prayers and dua’as must be prayed in the name of our Holy Imam Ali (AS) . NIGHT AAMAAL OF 23rd: 23rd is the third day of “Laylatul Qadr”, rated above the 19th and 21st.
